TREND: Face Pack a Day!
Thanks to K-beauty trends, we now understand just how important masks are to us. If you don’t yet, this is going to be a guide for you.
There are several masks available, formulated with different ingredients, for different purposes. The beauty of Korean skincare is that each product is designed to target an individual skin problem. This is one of the many reasons why they are very effective.
The masks are usually sheet masks that come individually packed, which is great for hygienic reasons. The sheets are usually specially formulated to hold in the essences it is covered in. This way, it retains the strength of whatever ingredient it was packaged with till the time the user needs it. There are various masks for various needs depending on the user’s skin type. There are also masks that work to prevent issues like wrinkles, sagging, blemishes, etc.
Your options go beyond sheet masks though. You also have the option of multimasking, which is basically using more than one product on separate areas on your face to target individual problems at the same time. There are a lot more k-beauty masks that come with so many benefits.

Below is a list of must-haves for anyone who wants to take full advantage of all that k-beauty offers.
1. Capsule packs
These packs are basically sheet masks without the sheets. The product in the capsule is to be applied to the skin directly. After use, it can just be washed off. It is a very good option if you’re planning to multimask, all you need to do is to apply to your target areas.
How to use- after washing your face, spread the mask evenly on the face. Leave it to dry for about 10-15 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water.
2. Hydrogel masks
They are very similar to sheet masks, but in the place of the sheets, you have a slicker material. The difference is very obvious in the texture and once you apply it, it definitely feels slimier than your regular sheet masks. The advantage is that hydrogels lock in moisture with the product better.
How to use- clean the face properly. Place the mask on the face and leave on for 20-30 minutes. After removing the mask, just lightly rub in the remaining product into your skin.
3. Partial nose masks
These masks are specially designed to work on the pores on the nose. It is very easy for oil to build up on the nose and block the pores. This can cause white heads and black heads. The nose mask absorbs the oil build up.
How to use- after cleansing the skin properly, apply the mask to the areas with the oil build up, white heads and black heads. Leave it on to dry (for about 10-15 minutes) and peel, pulling up from the opposite direction.
4. Egg mousse pack
As the name implies, it comes in mousse form. It is made from egg whites and egg yolk extracts. It forms a fine lather mousse that can be washed off. It leaves the skin glowing and looking well nourished.

It is usually packed with essences that are to keep the appearance of the skin pure. A good way to use them is for completing your skincare routine at night as they contain the serums and essences you would normally apply.
How to use- after cleansing face, put on the mask and leave on for 10-12 minutes. Take off mask and use your fingers to lightly rub in the remaining moisture.
